Rescue Diving

Cost: $300

The Rescue course is an important and crucial step in expanding your knowledge and experiences beyond the recreational diving level. Course material will increase your diving knowledge and level of skills, making you more aware of what is happening in the diving environment around you.

The course is demanding; and interaction, discussion, variety, and flexibility will be stressed during skills training. It is designed to be enjoyable; however the nature and context in which rescue skills may be used is quite serious. As in similar fields of emergency care training, the primary objective of this course is to prevent the need for using rescue skills. The course is also a prerequisite for Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Instructor training. The class consists of 4 pool and lecture plus 4 ocean dives.

The Rescue course is designed for divers with leadership in mind. Most importantly, rescue training can help save a life and increase diving safety by preparing you to respond properly in assists and diving emergencies.

* Problem recognition
* Equipment problems
* Beach exits
* First aid training/certification
* Response to a panicked diver
* Leadership roles
* CPR certification
* In-water removal of SCUBA equipment
* Cramp removal
* Air emergencies
* Managing and emergency
* Tows and carries
* Search and recovery procedures
* Unconscious diver
